Surprise! $60 MIL HS Stadium Wasn't a Good Use of Taxpayer Funds
Less than two years after opening, a controversial high school football stadium has been shut down due to structural concerns.
Eagle Stadium in Allen, Texas, which the Dallas Morning News has referred to as "a $60 million jewel rivaling college facilities," features seating for 18,000, its very own Jumbotron, and - unfortunately - "extensive cracking" in the concrete of its concourse. Officials first noticed the problem when the stadium opened in August of last year but, in the true spirit of sportsmanship, decided whether or not to risk the well-being of innocent athletes and spectators on the basis of a coin flip. (Spoiler alert: Public safety didn't win.)

| The way the entire building seems to list to one side is presumably a trick of the camera... but maybe not. |

76-yr-old Governor Lectures Public on Need to "Stay Alert"

"The world's pretty dangerous, very competitive," Governor Brown said between hits from his oxygen tank and sips of Ensure. "I think we need to stay alert, if not 24 hours a day, more than some of the potheads might be able to put together."
After taping the interview, Mr. Brown appeared in good spirits as he returned home to the governor's mansion for a long nap before his usual four p.m. dinner.
Brown recently announced his campaign for a fourth term as governor.

Indiana School Serves Up Racism for Black History Month
Indiana, that gaping maw of racism, illiteracy and child porn, has the honor of making it into my inaugural post by virtue of this little gem...
Park Tudor, a what-passes-for-elite private school in the educational wasteland of Indianapolis, IN, decided the best way to celebrate Black History Month was with a very special lunch menu. The prep school's predominantly white students were served an educational meal of fried chicken and collard greens smothered in a racist reduction sauce.
Staff members apparently got their heads out of their over-privileged asses and removed all references to Black History Month from the menu before the meal was actually served, but not before it was listed on the school's website.
Incidentally, parents pay a $15,000 - $19,000 yearly tuition for their students to receive such quality instruction. Park Tudor recently received a grade of "D" on its annual evaluation administered by the Indiana Department of Education.
