76-yr-old Governor Lectures Public on Need to "Stay Alert"

California governor Jerry Brown, who's just a month shy of his 76th birthday, recently gave an interview during which he took the opportunity to speak out against legalized marijuana, despite the fact that a recent poll showed a majority of his constituents favor legalizing pot.

"The world's pretty dangerous, very competitive," Governor Brown said between hits from his oxygen tank and sips of Ensure. "I think we need to stay alert, if not 24 hours a day, more than some of the potheads might be able to put together."

After taping the interview, Mr. Brown appeared in good spirits as he returned home to the governor's mansion for a long nap before his usual four p.m. dinner.

Brown recently announced his campaign for a fourth term as governor.
